next up on the tour: my living room and reading nook! the room off my kitchen was big enough to serve multiple purposes, so i used a couch almost like a partition, and set up a little reading nook in the corner. i have always wanted a comfy chair with a cozy sheepskin rug to curl up on during a rainy afternoon, and was so happy i finally had the space :)

the couches and tables came from my old apartment, a coffee table book featuring one of my very favorite people, fresh flowers to brighten up the place, my little painting hanging on the wall, and some pretty new pillows and a new (striped!) rug, all helped bring the room together.

i spent a lot of time searching online for the perfect bookcase, chair, rug, etc., and was surprised to find them all at the same place: ikea! i feel like ikea can have a bad rap sometimes, but certain items there are perfect: sturdy, reasonably priced, and you can take them home with you right away! the old-fashioned lamp and side table came from urban outfitters, and were 2 of the first new things i bought for the place. after a little color-coordination of the books, the nook was ready to go! also, i think it's safe to say what percy's favorite spot is downstairs...
there you have it! take a peak at the first part of my house tour (the kitchen), if you'd like! more rooms to come :)
